Snow in Marin?

by Michael 26. February 2011 04:35
Last weekend we had 6-10 inches of snow on Mount Tam above 2200ft. This left all 3 peaks white, Patrero Meadows looked like Tahoe, and the roads to the top of the mountain were closed for safety by the park service. This has been happening with more and more regularity over the last 10 years. In fact, the storm that was supposed to hit on Thursday and run through today was forecast with snow down to sea level. I was very skeptical of this, but believed 1000ft to be the realistic snow level, and was looking forward to Marin's Mt. Tamalpais being covered in the white stuff more than I've ever seen. Sea Leave; 1000ft? I guess we'll never know as it is now Saturday morning and though it's very cold out, it is clear and sunny with little probability of precipitation.

New Listing - Unique Home on Horse Hill in Corte Madera - $3795

by Michael 17. February 2011 05:47

This 3 bed 2 bath home for rent in Marin is in Corte Madera with beautiful views of the Richmond Bridge and the San Pablo Bay! The beauty of this layout is the master suite sits alone on the top floor, separated from the other 2 bedrooms which are below the main floor. And for those who may like to be closer to their little ones the lower floor features 2 large bedrooms with an updated bathroom. Both rooms are easily large enough to function as Master Bedrooms.

This marin rental property has just undergone some TLC as part of the standard tenancy tern-over, including: steam cleaned carpets, fresh paint throughout, new slim-line radiant wall heaters, standard hot-tub maintenance, and an exterior pressure washing.

Listed at $3795 this property won't be available for long. Available for immediate move-in. No smokers please. Pets considered for well-qualified applicants.

Tenancy Turnover in Marin - How to Put Your Best Foot Forward

by Michael 1. February 2011 07:09

Owners who are coming up on, or are at, a tenancy turnover can often benefit more than they think from a couple simple - and often overlooked - steps to help "put your best foot forward."

If you are a Marin landlord looking for new tenants to rent your property and want to make sure that you get well-qualified applicants who will take care of you property, there are a couple simple steps you can take to help ensure that you are attracting the right people. A simple, and cost-effective, way to give your property a face-lift is to give the interior a fresh coat of paint. You can take this a step further and power-wash the exterior. Also, make sure the previous tenants left you with a very clean interior, if not, spend the time and/or money to have it done professionally...this includes the carpets. Clean homes attract clean tenants.

A great recent example is my new listing at 99 Lyford Drive #43 in Tiburon: 3/2 Penthouse Condo with Panoramic Views, Hardwood floors, New appliances, and other updates. Unit available for a Feb 7th Move-In.

These owners have done a fantastic job.  They are in the middle of the turnover and have gone above and beyond to repaint the entire condo, install new tile, fixtures, and appliances, as well as making sure the previous tenants had the carpets professionally cleaned. When the work is done and the unit is ready to show the owners will have taken the necessary steps to make sure they attract the best well-qualified tenants, and fetch top-dollar for their property.
